The Universal Postal Union (UPU), a specialized agency of the United Nations and the principal forum for cooperation between postal sector stakeholders, establishes the rules for international mail exchanges. It has 192 member countries and has its headquarters in Berne.

Its primary objective is to encourage the provision of a quality postal service that is accessible to all, and its core mission is to develop social, cultural and commercial communication between peoples.

The UPU comprises several bodies, including the Postal Operations Council (POC), made up of representatives from 41 member countries, which considers operational and technical matters of interest to the postal service. It promotes the introduction of new postal products. It also establishes standards for the various technological, operational or other processes and procedures for their implementation.

The traineeship will encompass tasks related to communication and outreach programme activities
Main duties:
The trainee will be required to help support the following areas:

Graphic design
- Produce graphics and layouts for different projects and campaigns
- Assist in the development of concepts, layouts and designs for digital and print collateral
- Assist with controlling brand standards across all visual communication projects
- Assist in the adaptation of existing layouts to various UPU languages (French, English, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese)

Multimedia production
- Assist with photography of internal events
- Edit and retouch images and prepare them for print and digital usage
- Assist with the filming of video interviews
- Edit video interviews and apply UPU standard graphics
- Assist with the development of new video graphics

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Technical knowledge
- Ability to work with and understand different nationalities
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Ability to work under stress and to manage priorities
- Oral and written communication skills
- Practical sense
- Team player
Additional Information:
In line with UPU rules, this traineeship is reserved EXCLUSIVELY for STUDENTS. Any other candidate profile will not be considered. Recent graduates in the areas described above are also invited to apply. They must have graduated within six months of the date of this announcement.

The traineeship will be remunerated in accordance with current UPU Human Resources rules.

The conditions of service are governed by the Staff Regulations and Rules of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union.
