Organizational Context:
The Universal Postal Union, a specialized agency of the United Nations and the principal forum for cooperation between postal sector stakeholders, establishes the rules for international mail exchanges. It has 192 member countries, and its headquarters are in Berne.
The primary objective of the UPU is to encourage the provision of quality postal services that are accessible to all, and its core mission is to develop social, cultural and commercial communication between peoples.
The UPU comprises several bodies, including the Postal Operations Council (POC), which is made up of representatives from 48 member countries and considers operational and technical matters of interest to the postal service. The POC also promotes the introduction of new postal products, and establishes standards for the various technological, operational or other processes, as well as procedures for their implementation.

Main duties:
Under the supervision of the .POST Projects Manager. within the .POST Business Management Unit of the UPU Postal Technology Centre Directorate (DCTP), the trainee will coordinate the .POST Group's social media and web presence.
The trainee will be required to: - perform a quality assurance review of all .POST web properties with a view to refreshing them, as well as assisting with the implementation of a special 10.post web presence - collaborate on and assist with analyzing, developing and standardizing documentation for the .POST Business Management Unit - assist in conducting daily monitoring of the .POST webpages to maximize effectiveness and troubleshoot problems - make suggestions to improve and optimize the structure of the website sections and associated content - provide support in preparing .POST materials and advertisements for webinars and other events - provide support in establishing and maintaining .POST social media activities

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED |
Education: Bachelor's or master's student in computer and communication engineering |
Technical knowledge:
- Knowledge of communication and social media - Knowledge of maintaining computer systems and websites - Knowledge of event management

Language skills:
Proficiency in English or French is required. Working knowledge of the other language is an asset.

Additional Information:
In accordance with UPU rules, the traineeship is reserved exclusively for students finalizing a bachelor's degree or enrolled in a master's programme, or recent graduates (less than six months). The internship will be carried out remotely. The traineeship will be remunerated in accordance with current UPU rules.

The conditions of service are governed by the Staff Regulations and Rules of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union.
