Organizational Context:
With its 192 member countries, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), a specialized agency of the United Nations, is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players. It helps to ensure a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services.
Main duties:
As part of the Communication Programme team responsible for both internal and external communication, the incumbent will take responsibilities in external and internal institutional communications activities and events, as follows:

1. Community engagement
Contributes to and implements the organization's social media strategy and plans, including:
- Drafting and executing daily content updates to the organization's social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn);
- Supporting the roll-out of the unit's content plan across all social media platforms;
- Monitoring and moderating feedback from stakeholders on the organization's social media platforms;
- Assisting in the development of strategic social media campaigns on targeted issues;
- Collaborating with the Editorial Communication Expert and Graphic Designers to produce multimedia content for use on social media;
- Collating and analyzing analytics reports on social media accounts and campaigns.

2. Advocacy support and partner communications
Works with the Resource Mobilization Unit to develop communications plans and campaigns in support of fundraising and partnership activities, including:
- Contributing to and implementing communication plans and campaigns to attract, launch and nurture strategic partnerships;
- Coordinating the production and promotion of partnership-related content under the Communication Programme's content plan;
- Producing partner-focused communication products, including brochures, story banks, graphics and videos, to enhance understanding of partnership opportunities with the UPU;
- Supporting and strengthening strategic partnerships for advocacy - particularly with sectoral influencers, partner organizations (UN and non-UN) and other actors.

3. Internal communications
Assists with the development and implementation of the organization's internal communication strategy and plan.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education:
University degree (Bachelor) in communication, journalism, public relations, international relations or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum three years' work experience in communication or public relations with an undergraduate degree or two years' work experience with a graduate degree. Work experience in an international environment and/or an international organization would be an advantage.
Skills and abilities / competencies:
1. Excellent writing and editing skills for print and digital media.
2. Ability to think strategically and develop communication plans, shape key messages and identify target audiences.
3. Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
4. Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, publishing tools, trends and best practices.
5. Good knowledge of social media analytics.
6. Good knowledge of fundraising and resource mobilization principles and practices.
7. Experience with audio and video media production an asset.
8. Good project management skills.
Language skills:
Proficiency in English and good working knowledge of French.
Additional Information:
French is the official language of the UPU. English and French are the working languages of the UPU International Bureau.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)
49,254 USD
Post adjustment: 71.4 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.

The conditions of service are governed by the Staff Regulations and Rules of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union.
