Organizational Context:
Please note that this is a locally-recruited position, restricted to Swiss nationals and/or legal residents of Switzerland.
With its 192 member countries, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), a specialized agency of the United Nations, is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players. It helps to ensure a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services.

Main duties:
1. Assist in staff administration - Draft and prepare standard letters/notes regarding conditions of service; - Monitor contract deadlines and leave-related issues, and prepare notes as necessary; - Prepare and finalize documents such as internal memoranda, administrative instructions and notes, for publication and/or distribution; - Provide administrative assistance related to the updating of the Staff Rules and Regulations; - Manage incoming/outgoing mail and documents (using Klastoo); - Provide necessary administrative support relating to information searches, reports, staff lists, etc.; - Prepare statistics and complete surveys, as requested.
2. Assist in the recruitment process - Prepare announcements of vacancies; - Assist in the administration of online tests and the organization of interviews; - Prepare the acknowledgement of receipt of unsolicited employment applications; - Prepare contracts according to specific instructions and conditions.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED |
Education: - Secondary education or equivalent, such as commercial studies or similar. - A diploma or continuing education in the field of HR administration would be an asset.

Experience:
Three years' initial experience as an HR assistant, preferably at a UN agency. |
Technical knowledge:
- Knowledge of general HR administration. - Experience in using software for HR administrative management. - Good knowledge of office software tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. - Knowledge of the United Nations System would be an asset.

- Ability to work independently. - Ability to establish good working relations with staff at all levels in an international environment. - Discretion, ethics and respect for confidentiality - Responsiveness. - Rigour and professionalism. - Ability to work as part of a team.

Language skills:
Proficiency in English. Working knowledge in French would be an advantage.

Monthly salary:
