Organizational Context:
The Universal Postal Union (UPU), with its headquarters in the Swiss capital Berne, is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players. It helps to ensure a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services.

Under the supervision of the E-Services Programme Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for product development and marketing activities related to the .post platform.
Main duties:
1. Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, assists the Programme Manager and the team in:
- preparation and implementation of business plans, marketing and sales plans for the growth of .post.
- contribution to strategic business planning and service delivery for .post.

2. Anticipates customer needs and potential solutions to support needs identified through research.

3. Specifies market requirements for current and future Internet-based postal products by participating in market research on the internet product activities of members of the .post sponsored community.

4. Develops and drafts proposals for international Internet-based digital postal products.

5. Identifies and helps establish partner relationships for the development of the .post platform.

6. Communicates accurate and timely information and forecasts on the development of .post.

7. Works with the .post community to facilitate the development of members' activities using .post.

8. Contributes to increased awareness and knowledge about .post within the various internal and external stakeholder groups.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education:
First-level university degree (bachelor's or similar) in e-commerce, innovation, marketing, business or IT.
Experience:
With first-level university degree:
At least two years' experience in business development, preferably in relation to the internet.

or

Without a first-level university degree:
At least eight years' experience in business development, preferably in Internet-related projects at the UPU or in another UN agency or in the postal sector.
Technical knowledge:
- Proven track record in marketing/market surveys and sales/business planning.

- Strong detail orientation with the ability to work with international partners is a must.

- A proven record of success in coordinating product development projects is a plus.

- A clear understanding of the Internet environment and postal Internet products is desirable.
Skills and abilities / competencies:
- Customer focus, service-oriented approach, discretion and diplomacy.

- Good interpersonal skills and contacts.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Adaptable, self-motivated, responsible and organized.

- Ability to work across many cultures at different stages of economic development.

- Proven ability to meet ambitious objectives and obtain results.

- Combination of creative and analytical talents; must be able to conceptualize new ideas, research new ideas and evaluate them objectively from a market and financial standpoint, and prepare proposals to persuade stakeholders to provide support.
Language skills:
Perfect proficiency in English or in French and the ability to communicate in the other language. Knowledge of other languages, particularly those used in the UN system, would be an asset.
Annual salary: (Net of tax)
46730 USD
49821 USD with primary dependants
Post adjustment: 104.9 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.

The conditions of service are governed by the Staff Regulations and Rules of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union.
